New Years!

Our time in California went by pretty fast and before we knew it, it was time to pack up our stuff and head to Colorado for a few days. As a side note, did you know that both United and Frontier airlines charge $20/a bag to check luggage? Yes, this sucked as we did a lot of flying during our month long stay in the States and checked 3 pieces of luggage. Thankfully Keenan's car seat was still free to check.

While in Colorado we stayed with our friends Casey and Kelly and their son Davis who is just 5 months younger than Keenan. Keenan loved playing with Davis and all of his toys. Although as you can imagine 2 year olds are not good at sharing, there was plenty of fighting over toys and Keenan ended up with a pretty good bite mark on his shoulder.

Keenan and Davis chillin' on the couch watching cartoons and drinking chocolate milk.

We got together with our Colorado friends for a lunch and somehow the girls got the short end of the stick. All the girls plus kids ate at Red Robin while the guys went over to a local brewery. Keenan had fallen asleep on the way to the restaurant and was a bit grumpy. Upon entering the restaurant he immediately spotted the balloons which he asked for very nicely but he then proceeded to refuse to have the balloon tied to his wrist or any toy so it floated to the ceiling. This resulted in a mass tantrum and I'm pretty sure non-stop crying for the next 20 minutes. I realize he was mostly just a tired little boy but I really wanted to visit with my friends. I was one minute away from calling Eric to demand that he come retrieve his son when he finally calmed down and became my happy child again.

After lunch we took Keenan through the mall to look at a few things and stopped by the pet store to look at all the cute puppies. This was a big hit as this pet store had tons of cute puppies, a few kitties, bunnies, birds, hamsters...ect ect.

For New Years Eve we headed down to Castle Rock to Chad and Kristen's house. Before we all had kids they used to always host our New Years Eve bash. With four kids running around it was a little more toned down then in the past but fun nevertheless. All the kids thought it was pretty cool that they got to drink "wine", aka sparkling cider, in plastic wine glasses and kept demanding "More wine!"

Finally around 11pm we decided that maybe we should get the kids to bed. Kristen thought it would be fun to cram them all into one bed for story time. The first story was "Goodnight Moon" the kids all look sleepy and relaxed.

Then the second book came out and they all perked up.
Thankfully they were all so worn out from playing and it being late they went to bed fairly easily.

For our last night in Colorado we stayed we Eric's brother, Mark in Highlands Ranch. Mark has a bird that Keenan thought was pretty cool since it would sit on your shoulder.

These pics are too cute - sounds like a good time was had by all. I love that you gave the kids "wine." Wish we could have made it and hope to see you again soon!
