Surprise reunion

After telling Keenan for days that his daddy would be home soon I finally stopped because we just didn't know when Eric would make it here. That darn volcano in Iceland ruined his travel plans, he was rerouted to fly out of Munich but then that airport closed... rerouted again to fly out of Rome on Thursday the 22nd (baby was scheduled to come out the 20th) . Eric took the train to Rome on Sunday in hopes of catching an earlier flight. He called us at 2:30 in the morning the day of the c-section to tell us he was about to board a plane to DC but it would be iffy if he would make it all the way to Billings in one day.

Eric finally made it to Billings at 11pm and to the hospital to meet Van a short while later. We decided it would be best for him to go back to my parents house and surprise Keenan in the morning.

The next morning Eric was standing in the hallway between our room and Keenan's room when Keenan started to wake up. Keenan looked at Eric, rubbed his eyes and looked again. He must not have believed what he saw because he rubbed his eyes again and took a much harder look. Eric then got down on his knees and said "Hey, buddy" to which Keenan immediately sprinted out of bed to Eric with his arms spread wide for a big hug and wouldn't let go for a long time.

Since then Keenan has not wanted Eric out of his sight. I'm a bit worried how Keenan is going to take it when Eric leaves to go back to Slovenia in just under a week. This morning Eric went with my Dad skeet shooting, Keenan stared out the window and had the saddest look on his face. :( Thankfully it should only be 3 weeks instead of a little over a month when we'll see him again.
