Van and Keenan check-up

Took Van into his well-baby check up he's 3 1/2 months old and a little over 20 pounds... yikes no wonder my back is constantly killing me. He's also a little over 26 inches long. This time the Dr. admitted that he was just a big boy and that he wasn't too fat... I already knew that! :) and she didn't talk about trying to feed him water instead.

Van getting stronger and able to do tummy time for longer periods of time, especially if he's busy watching Keenan play. He is very talkative, lots of G sounds, gurgles and happy screeching. His face lights up and he smiles big when I hold him in front of the mirror and my favorite is that he almost always greets me with a smile when I get him from his crib even in the middle of the night. Van seems to be a very happy baby with lots of smiles and giggles. Its hard not to melt at the sight of a baby smile or the sound of giggles!

Van also popped out his first tooth last Saturday, I've been wondering when it was going to happen. I've been able to see and feel his front 3 teeth for about a month now, plus he's been drooling and gnawing on his fist like crazy. My left shoulder is constantly wet from his drool... sexy.

Keenan also had a check-up since he will be starting a Slovenian pre-school he needed a note saying he was healthy. Half-way through the exam Keenan gets this totally serious look on his face, points his finger at the Dr. and says very sternly "Now, we are NOT doing shots today. OK?" And no, he didn't need any shots.

Conversation this morning with Keenan.
Me: Aiden and Bauer are coming over this morning to ride bikes with you
Keenan: What if I don't want to?
Me: Do you want to?
Keenan: Yes, sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do though
Me: Oh, and what do you do when you don't want to do something?
Keenan: I spit it out in mommy's hand
Me: ?? Nice...

Guess what - must be a 2-3 year old thing. My darling daughter also has a habit of spitting things into my hand. Charming!

And I totally agree with you on the smily baby, my dear 8 month old (who just popped her first two teeth) also smiles all the time - eventhrough the drool....
We miss you!
