Lenny Kravitz concert

Monday night we got a sitter and went out. Yeah! We met up with a few friends for dinner at a nice little belgian restaraunt. One of their specialties was a big platter of assorted sausages, I opted for a lighter meal and had a grilled cheese sandwich that had a fancy name. Then we headed to the Lenny Kravitz concert. I really didn't have too high of expectations as I couldn't recall any new material that he had out but it sounded fun just the same.
WOW! He was absolutely amazing in concert! The energy level was high and he had the whole crowd revved up. Not only was he an awesome performer but his band was amazing as well. During the songs they did quite a guitar/saxaphone/trumpet solos and jam sessions. Lenny Kravitz is actually the son of a Ukrainian jewish man, the crowd went nuts when he told them that. During the concert I kept wondering if he was going to play "American Woman" and how the crowd would react... he did play it and the crowd went absolutely nuts cheering and screaming. Our tickets were for the fan zone which was on the floor which meant we had to stand. We managed to squeeze and push our way into the crowd of people and we were actually pretty close to the stage. My friend Laura recently mentioned in her blog going to a concert and wondering why all the ladies would bring their overly large purses and seriously what could they possibly have in them. The concert floor was littered with ladies and their "overnight bag" sized purses. I too had to wonder what was in there. Did they sneak in a few extra beers? ... did they have an extra one? I didn't bring my camera to the concert... Eric didn't want to carry in his pockets... and I most certainly did NOT bring a ridiculously oversized purse to a crowded concert! So the picture above is borrowed from a website.

Errrrrrrrrrr, exactly what conclusion would one draw from the fact that I never ever heard of the guy?
